A man has been charged with attempted deliberate homicide after he allegedly stabbed another man in the neck in Black Eagle north of Great Falls.

Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter said in a news release on Thursday afternoon that the suspect, Anthony Wall, called 911 on Thursday morning to report that he had cut the man's neck. Sheriff's deputies and medical personnel arrived and took the victim to Benefis Health System for treatment.

According to Slaughter, the victim - a family member of Wall's - was in the bathroom when Wall grabbed a knife from the kitchen, which is adjacent to the bathroom, and used it to "cause serious bodily injury to the victim's throat." Deputies and medical personnel noted that the injury to the victim was consistent with Wall's description. They also saw blood on Wall's hands and shirt.

Wall then reportedly went upstairs to wake up his brother and told him what he had done. The two went downstairs and found the victim in the bathroom and "blood everywhere." The brother ran upstairs to get his phone to call 911.

The victim is in critical condition at the hospital, according to Slaughter. There is no mention of any possible motive for the incident, which happened on the 200 block of 15th Street in Black Eagle.
