Police say teen threatened shooting at Billings West High School

Billings police said that a 16-year-old student was arrested after allegedly threatening a school shooting at Billings West High School.

Police responded to the school at 7:15 a.m. in response to an online post threatening the shooting. The school resource sergeant received a call from the FBI early in the morning, alerting him to the threatening post. A source told Q2 News the student was apprehended during a soft lockdown after about 15 minutes.

The teen was arrested and booked into the youth detention center on suspicion of felony intimidation. Under Montana law, this charge applies when a person knowingly communicates a threat or false report.
