BUTTE — Butte police have charged a teenager in connection with the vandalism to the amphitheater at the veterans memorial in Butte.
Butte Sheriff Ed Lester said a 14-year-old boy admitted to spray-painting graffiti on the amphitheater at Stodden Park on the morning of Jan. 26.
The graffiti included obscenities and a racial slur.
The juvenile faces a felony charge of criminal mischief because the vandalism to the memorial caused more than $1,500 in damage.
The tip leading to the identity of the teen came from a citizen, Lester said.
The name of the teen has not been released. It was unclear whether the female seen in surveillance has been identified or charged.
