A wildfire in Sheridan County near the Wyoming and Montana border grew to 25,000 acres Tuesday.

The Waddle Creek fire started late Monday afternoon, according to the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center.

In a tweet Tuesday, the agency said the fire had grown to 25,000 acres.

The agency said the initial attack on the fire included two "very large air tankers," a helicopter, and two single engine air tankers.

The fire was initially reported to be 500 to 700 acres.
