BILLINGS – A high school student suffered minor injuries Friday after getting struck by a car on Central Avenue, close to West High School.

Lt. Mike Cady with the Billings Police Department told Q2 News the female victim’s injuries were so minor that she was not transported to the hospital.

The victim was crossing the street and was struck by a truck in front of Wendy’s restaurant. She told police she spilled her drink in the middle of the road.

However, this is the second time Friday a student was struck by a car, police said. Another incident also took place earlier in the day at Castlerock Middle School. That student also suffered minor injuries and was okay.

Cady used the opportunity to remind drivers that as school gets underway, students are out and about in traffic all around the city.
