BILLINGS- The man arrested following a nearly four-hour standoff in a home near Rose Park was identified Friday as Rhye Temple, 24 of Billings.

His girlfriend, Amanda Wilson, 23 of Billings, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. Neither face charges related to the standoff, but the investigation continues, police said.

Temple had several outstanding arrest warrants and was the subject of other ongoing criminal investigations and was believed to be armed and dangerous. This is why Billings police said Friday they surrounded a residence at 2215 Ave. B with their SWAT and Hostage negotiation teams.

According to a news release, officers received a tip was in the neighborhood, then saw Wilson walk into the residence.

Police knocked and announced their presence and heard arguing inside but got no response, according to the release.

Fearing Temple was armed, police closed streets and maintained a perimeter. After four hours with no communication from inside, the SWAT team entered and arrested Temple and Wilson without incident. Police said they did not find a gun.

Temple and Wilson are being held in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility.
