As of 12:01 AM on September 21, all fire restrictions on private, state and federal lands in Central Montana will be lifted.
This includes current restrictions in Fergus, Petroleum, Judith Basin, Wheatland, and Golden Valley counties.
Larry Elder, fire mitigation and education specialist for Southern Montana, said that Southern Montana will also be lifting some fire restrictions at 12:01 AM September 21, with a full removal likely in the near future.
The stage one restrictions in Treasure County will come down starting on Friday, leaving the stage one restrictions in Stillwater County as the only active fire restrictions in Southern Montana.
Elder said there is a conference call scheduled for Monday morning to discuss the state of the restrictions in Stillwater County and that he expects that call to end with the removal of all fire restrictions for Stillwater County.
If Elder is correct, by Monday there will be no fire restrictions in any county in Southern Montana.
