ROUNDUP- Bow hunting enthusiasts will once again be given a special opportunity to hunt mule deer in Roundup.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks announced Thursday it has scheduled a special hunt on various properties around Roundup to reduce the number of mule deer in the town.

In past years, the hunt has helped to reduce the number of complaints of deer-related motor vehicle accidents as well as complaints by residents about aggressive deer.

This is the fifth year of the special hunt, which kicks off on Nov. 9 and will run through Feb. 15.

Hunters must have valid Montana conservation licenses, base hunting licenses and bow and arrow licenses.

Hunters must report their harvest to the Roundup city office at (406) 323-2894.

Tags go on sale at 5 a.m. Oct. 2. There will be 120 tags available, and they will cost residents $10 and non-residents $75. Each hunter is allowed a maximum oftwo tags.
