BILLINGS- The main building at Billings Logan International Airport will soon be bigger and better for passengers.
The city’s aviation and transit department showed the possible plans to the public for the first time, at the airport operations center on Thursday.
The initial plans have eight terminals and more space for restrooms, concessions and screening.
The new building will be north of the current building.
The design will make it easier to expand as Billings grows.
“The footprint of the building that we’ve come up with is really a pretty functional design,” said Kevin Ploehn, director of aviation and transit for the city of Billings. “It really sets the city up for the future in terms of how you can expand the terminal building later on.”
The plans and drawings can soon be seen on the city of Billings airport website.
Construction on the airport expansion is scheduled to start in July of next year and finish in 2022.
