BILLINGS- The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is holding a fundraiser for the Centennial Dog Park at the proposed site on the corner of 34th Street West and St. Johns Avenue 11 a.m. Saturday.

The event, which is co-hosted by the Friends of the Billings Dog Park, is aimed at launching a fundraising campaign to develop the park, according to the city.

The Parks Department is planning to seek bids in early 2019 for the first phase of construction, which includes mass grading, irrigation systems, parking, sidewalks and grass.

Money raised during this campaign will go toward amenities such as shade structures, watering stations, benches and an agility course.

This kickoff event will feature speakers, a food truck, T-shirt sales and information on the future off-leash area on the southwest corner of the park.
