Billings police issue alert for missing woman, call disappearance ‘suspicious’

BILLINGS- The Billings Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating a Billings woman who went missing in September.

The family of 49-year-old Laura Johnson took to Facebook to ask for help in locating her last month. The original post was shared thousands of times in just the span of hours.

In a Tuesday press release, Billings police said officers are aware of the active social media posts surrounding this case but are unable to provide additional details because of the ongoing investigation.

At this time, investigators believe Johnson’s disappearance occurred under suspicious circumstances.

She was last confirmed to be seen on Sept. 13 in Billings and was is classified as missing out of Washington state on Sept. 28. On Friday night, a police crime scene vehicle was seen at her Billings residence, but police did not release specific information on what they discovered there.

Johnson is described as 5’4”, 130 lbs., blues eyes, and long blonde hair. There are no associated vehicles to describe at this time.
