The Yellowstone County Disaster & Emergency Services (DES) is conducting a county-wide Emergency Siren Test.

The siren system is to alert citizens of possible dangers such as natural or man-made disasters, extreme changing weather conditions, chemical emergencies, or national emergencies.

The 24 sirens are sounding for 1 minute at all sites.

When you hear the Emergency Siren System please follow these directions.

Go indoors, close all doors and windows. Tune to local information stations including KTVQ. Do not call 911, such calls may hinder response activities in an emergency.

Again the siren alert tonight is only a test.
