BILLINGS- Sixty-five years ago today, channel 2 first went on the air in Billings.
We were then known as KOOK-TV on Nov. 8, 1953. As our chief meteorologist Bob McGuire reminds us, the station went on air that first day for three hours, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and stayed live the entire time.
Bob posted the original station log from that first day on his Facebook page. It’s hanging here in our building as a reminder of where we come from.
