BILLINGS – A Billings restaurant honored veterans on Sunday.

Mooyah served free lunches to the members of the Montana National Guard’s 190th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and other veterans.

The Family Readiness Group, which helps while a soldier is deployed, was also a part of the special day.

Mooyah is also honoring the families of the National Guard members.

“We wanted to put a lot of focus on the families that kind of get overlooked,” said Jeffrey Willet, Mooyah marketing manager and a member of the 190th. “They’re just as much part of military service as anybody. They’re still back here doing what we do, taking care of things for us when we’re deployed overseas.”

“Veterans Day is always a special day for people in the military, especially for those who have served overseas,” said Maj. Janel Weise, 190th executive officer. “So to see the support that the Billings community is providing us on a day like today means a lot to us.”

Willett said Mooyah will make this an annual event and also have other days for military personnel and emergency responders.
