BILLINGS- If you drive Zimmerman Drive, it could still be another couple of weeks before the route opens, and the impending cold snap likely won’t help, according to the Montana Department of Transportation.
Colder temperatures are extending the project because crews can only pave for half of the day.
The construction will likely continue into the Thanksgiving Day holiday, which is Nov. 22.
Construction is just a few days behind schedule due to cold and snowy weather last week.
The route is still closed at Rimrock Road and Zimmerman Drive, but when it’s done, the road will be wider and there will be upgraded guardrails, all to improve safety.
