BILLINGS- The Zimmerman Trail is open for good in Billings.
Construction finally wrapped up Wednesday on the popular connector from the top of the rims to the valley on the West End.
The improvements include a roundabout at the top, wider lanes, new guardrails and better lighting.
Zimmerman was closed at the end of June when a large crack was discovered in the road bed, just ahead of planned construction.
The road was opened over the Thanksgiving holiday but closed again Monday and Tuesday as crews put the finishing touches on the project.
