Car crashes through fence at North Billings academy

BILLINGS- An SUV crashed through the fence at Explorers Academy, also known as Billings Head Start,  at 615 N. 19th St. Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses at the school said no employees or students were injured. The crash happened about 1:45 p.m.

The vehicle also struck and damaged three vehicles belonging to Explorers Academy employees, the witness said.

The driver of the SUV told Q2 News she was traveling west on Sixth Avenue North when she was struck by a silver Chevrolet van, which was heading north on 18th Street.

The driver, who asked not to be identified, said her brakes then went out, and she struck the fence. She was walking around and did not seem injured.

Billings police said six vehicles were damaged and no one was transported to the hospital. The crash is under investigation.
