BILLINGS – A Billings man was lucky to see the Bob Seger concert on Tuesday night at MetraPark, after he showed up to the concert with a ticket he didn’t realize was fake.

Ray Massie, marketing and sales director at MetraPark, said that the tickets were bought through a third-party site, and the buyers didn’t know until they showed up to scan their tickets.

“We had a person buy a ticket third-party,” said Massie. “The ticket was no good and it cost them $270. Fortunately, good story, the Seger people came up and said we can find seats for them…That doesn’t happen often.”

Massie said that often those with fake tickets are turned away at the doors.

According to the receipt, the tickets come from a company called Verified Seats of Nebraska.

He said that while some third-party ticket vendors are reputable, it is always better to buy from the MetraPark website, to ensure you are paying for a real ticket and that if there are any issues, the will be able to help you.
