BILLINGS- A lot of people choose to stay home with falling snow, icy streets and dropping temperatures.

That decision can mean big opportunity for food delivery drivers.

TopZ Sandwich Company on Billings West End has its busiest times around lunchtime into the late afternoon.

Deliveries kept sandwich makers and drivers busy on Wednesday.

The rush had calmed down by the evening for TopZ.

Tucker Veltkamp, TopZ owner, said that’s fairly normal in the sandwich business.

In January and February, winter conditions bring more deliveries.

FirstMark Construction has been plowing all around Billings, including residential areas, which helps TopZ drivers.

“Days like today, we’ll have four or five guys out on the roads, two to three guys in store and we can do up to 40, 50 in an hour, deliveries,” said Veltkamp. “Typically, we’ll have double the delivery drivers on than we would on a summer night with the same amount of deliveries, just because, yea, it’s dangerous out there.”

Veltkamp said in the summer the store will be full.

In winter, the phone and online ordering make it busy for deliveries.
