BILLINGS – The city of Billings is planning to replace about 300 large alley trash cans with smaller curbside bins.
Dave Mumford, the Billings public works director, told the Billings City Council Monday night that the city will keep about 1,000 large garbage bins to service multi-family and commercial areas.
“The change is for safety, to help with some operational issues and will help save money,” Mumford said at the council meeting.
Public works will send a letter to affected residents four weeks before making the change in their neighborhood.
