Crews knock down garage fire on Billings South Side

UPDATE 9:34 p.m. The Billings Fire Department said in a press release that the fire damaged the corner of the interior of the garage and caused smoke damage to the rest of the garage.

Damages are estimated at $60,000. The fire was caused by combustible material left near a wood stove.

UPDATE 7:30 p.m. Billings Fire Battalion Chief Ed Regele said firefighters knocked down the fire within 20 minutes, and no one was injured.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause and assessing the damage.


BILLINGS- Firefighters are responding to a structure fire on Billings South Side.

The fire is in an outbuilding on Washington Street near the intersection of State Avenue.

The call just before 7 p.m. Five Billings Fire Department engines are on the scene.

This is a developing story.
