Update 3:36 p.m.: The fire at old Crow Tribal Administration Building started at noon Wednesday and has been contained, Crow Agency Fire Chief Vernon Hill said.

The building was vacant, no one was injured and no other buildings were threatened, Hill said.

Crow Agency has been low on water because of a recent water line breakage, which allowed the fire to spread across the roof, Hill said.

The cause is under investigation. The building was scheduled for demolishment after it closed in 2017 because of basement flooding.

An early afternoon fire is burning at the old Crow Tribal Administration Building, and tribal officials are asking the public to stay clear.

Tribal officials say they’re concerned about natural gas lines in the area.

According to the Crow Tribe Facebook page Crow Tribal Department of Emergency Services, B.I.A Law Enforcement and Emergency Staff are on the scene.

This is a developing story.
