BILLINGS – Trooper Wade Palmer wears badge number 301.
He was shot in the line of duty earlier this month near Missoula and has been recovering in a Salt Lake City hospital since the incident.
On Friday, Alternative Athletics in Billings worked to raise money for the Palmer family with a special workout of the day: The Trooper Palmer Workout.
“When you’re talking about highway patrol, police department…these are guys that lay it on the line for us and unfortunate circumstances have happened, but it allows us as a community to give back to their community, which is phenomenal,” said Clint Hull, a trainer at the gym.
The workout consisted of various exercises and was not complete until participants finished 301 total reps.
Along with the workout, the gym also hosted a BBQ from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to raise money.
All money raised will go to the Palmer family.
