BILLINGS- A 22-year-old Crow Agency woman is dead following a weekend rollover crash on Interstate 90 east of Billings.

Cassie Bighair was traveling west on Interstate 90 near the Pryor Creek Road exit just before 6 a.m.  Saturday when she began drifting off the road, overcorrected twice, then slid into a fence and overturned multiple times, according to Montana Highway Patrol.

She was ejected from the 2008 GMC Denali and flown by Life Flight helicopter to St. Vincent Health Care in Billings, where she died Sunday, according to the highway patrol.

Bighair was identified Monday afternoon by Yellowstone County Coroner Cliff Mahoney. She is the daughter of Big Horn County Sheriff Lawrence Bighair, Mahoney said.

Troopers said the road conditions were bare and dry, and Bighair was not wearing her seatbelt.

Alcohol and speed are suspected factors, according to the highway patrol.

This was the 20th fatal crash in Montana in 2019, according to the highway patrol.
