BILLINGS- A motorcycle rider was transported to a Billings hospital Thursday afternoon after a collision with a vehicle.
The crash occurred in the Heights near the intersection of Yellowstone River Road and Bitterroot Drive around 4:30 p.m.
The motorcycle rider, a man in his 30s, was exiting Cherry Creek heading west, ignored traffic signals and struck a GMC Acadia van that was heading east on Yellowstone River Road, Billings Police Officer Aaron Edwards said.
Speed was a factor, Edwards said. The injuries were non-life-threatening.
Police said to expect delays on the road. They are continuing to investigate.
The accident came just hours after a bicyclist was injured in a separate crash on Billings West End.
Billings Police are investigating a vehicle vs motorcycle crash at Yellowstone River Rd and Bitterroot Dr. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a Billings area hospital by ambulance. Expect traffic delays near this intersection for the next 30-45 minutes.
