BILLINGS- Lockwood schools are calling in counselors Thursday after an intermediate student died at home in an accident.

In a Wednesday Facebook post, district officials noted they wanted to inform parents if their children are asking tough questions when they come home. The intermediate school has students between grades 3 and 5.

Counselors will be available Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon for children or parents who need help, according to the post. Lockwood schools will not have classes Thursday through Monday for spring break.

Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch counselors can be reached at 671-0972, and will be available at other times, according to the post.

The release provided no details about the death or the student. Lockwood Superintendent Tobin Novasio told Q2 News any release of more information would be up to the family.

A representative from the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office said law enforcement had no immediate comment Wednesday but would release more information at a later date.

This is a developing story.
