BILLINGS- Two people went to the hospital Monday night after a two-car crash involving a police pursuit, including on foot, in downtown Billings.
The incident started around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the downtown Albertsons grocery store with a complaint of a man in his 20s “acting weird” and trying to pick fights, said Billings Police Sgt. Bret Becker.
Two officers responded, and the man jumped into his silver pickup truck when he saw them and drove behind the Home 2 Suites by Hilton hotel across the street, Becker said.
Police attempted to pull him over and he took off, T-boned a red Ford Edge on North 27th Street, then tried to flee police on foot, Becker said. He was caught after about a block.
The driver of the silver pickup was taken to the hospital and likely faces multiples felonies, including a possible DUI and traffic violations, Becker said.
A female passenger was also detained on a warrant.
The driver of the Ford Edge was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
