Update 4:20 p.m. The victim has been identified as a 24-year-old Billings man and was treated and released from the hospital Thursday, according to Billings police.
Police also said they’ve identified a 28-year-old Billings man as a person of interest but have made no arrests.
The investigation continues.

BILLINGS – The Billings Police Department reported a gunshot victim checked into a hospital for medical treatment on Thursday morning.
According to Billings Lt. Riley Finnegan, the shooting was reported at 4:51 a.m. on the 3600 block of 6th Ave. South.
The Billings Police Department shared the information in a tweet at 7:48 a.m. Thursday.
The victim was a male. The tweet did not include details on the extent of his injuries. It also didn’t mention any involvement of a suspect.
An investigation by Billings Police Department detectives is underway.
