Pedestrian struck, injured in Billings crossing

BILLINGS- A female pedestrian was hit by Honda CR-V driven by a male at the pedestrian crossing on Central Avenue west of 27th Street West north of Stewart Park shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.

The woman was awake when she was loaded into the ambulance. Her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The Central Avenue crossing has a safety island and flashing warning lights when activated by pedestrians or bikers. It is not known at this time if the lights were flashing when the woman was struck.

Westbound traffic in Central was detoured at 27th Street West for a short time.

Billings police are investigating the crash.
