BILLINGS – People all over the world enjoyed free admission as part of International Museum Day on Saturday.
In Billings the Yellowstone Art Museum provided a chance to see the current exhibits.
The International Council of Museums started the free day in 1977.
The Yellowstone Art Museum has been a part of the event for about 10 years.
The idea is to bring awareness of museums.
The theme this year is “Museums as Cultural Hubs: the future of tradition.”
This is also the theme of the council’s conference in September.
About 40,000 museums worldwide hosted events as part of International Museum Day in 2018.
