Road construction around Laurel to pause for Fourth of July holiday

LAUREL- The Montana Department of Transportation is pausing construction of the West Laurel Interchange project over the Fourth of July holiday to accommodate expected traffic.

Work will stop at noon on Wednesday, July 3 then resume the following Monday, July 8, DOT officials said Thursday.

Traffic on Interstate 90 is currently reduced to two-way traffic through November 2019. West Railroad Street is closed from west of South 8th Avenue to the intersection of Frank Road. Shay Road is closed to through traffic.

Laurel’s annual July 4 celebration typically attracts tens of thousands of people to town. Transportation are urging caution while traveling on that day.
