BILLINGS – A muddy race track and some friendly competition brought out the fans this weekend when Montana Off Road Extreme (MORE) Racing hosted mud drag racing on Saturday near Oscar’s Dreampark.
Four different classes of trucks reached speeds of up to 90 miles per hour.
Drivers maneuvered through 18 inches of mud.
They enjoyed the camaraderie and good sportsmanship.
“It’s all of us together,” said “Dollar” Dan Krug, MORE announcer. “We have a good rapport with everybody here. Everybody likes to race everybody else. You’re not holding that wheel steady, you’re working it back and forth plus you’re shifting at the same time.”
In between races, fans get their chance to run on the course.
“We have a dash for cash,” Krug said. “We like to get our spectators involved with everything of it. It’s a family deal. we want everybody to participate in it. We all got a lot of redneck in us and it shows.”
The next event will be Sept. 7.
