BILLINGS – A crew from Billings Flying Service headed to Alaska to help fight massive wildfires burning in the state.
The Billings crew left in a Blackhawk helicopter on Wednesday.
There are multiple large fires burning in Alaska, and two are currently burning over 100,000 acres.
Crews from the Billings Flying Service are often called in to assist with wildfires. Last month, a crew was sent to California to assist in firefighting efforts there.
