About 800 expected in audience at each Billings high school graduation

The stage is set for Sunday's high school graduation ceremonies at MetraPark in Billings.

All three Billings public high schools will take turns in a social-distancing graduation ceremony inside the First Interstate Arena.

Peaking inside the facility Friday, your attention is drawn to the arena floor, where the individual seats for the graduates are spaced six feet apart, nearly filling the arena floor.

Asked for any last minute instructions, School District 2 Superintendent Greg Upham said "enjoy the ceremony". His other advice, wash your hands and respect the space of others.

While a few students will be absent, Upham said it looks like 98 to 99 percent of graduating seniors plan to take part.

Skyview High School kicks off Sunday at 9 a.m. with a graduating class of around 360 students.

Senior High's graduation begins at 2 p.m. with 380 graduating seniors.

West High, with an estimated 400 graduates, wraps up the day at 7 p.m.

With each graduate receiving two tickets, Sunday's attendance will average between 700 to 800 people per event, not counting the students.

If you can't make it to the graduation, you can watch it live on the Q2 Facebook page, on the CW and at KTVQ.com.
