For over 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been a mentoring network connecting adults and children across the country. This week, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County is holding its annual golf outing to help raise money for their programs.
"It’s this Thursday, Aug. 13, 1 p.m. shotgun start, at Pryor Creek," says Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County CEO Amy Riesinger. "This is an annual event that we do to raise funds to help make sure we can continue mentoring at-risk youth in Yellowstone County."
Riesinger said anyone came come out and play. About 19 teams are registered right now, but they would love to add a few more before Thursday. If people would like to contribute, there are also plenty of ways to donate and get involved. She also told Q2 Monday that they are in need of mentors, especially for young boys.
"We probably have 20-plus kids on our waiting list and most of those are boys. So we are always looking for men who would be interested in mentoring a boy between the ages of 7 and 13... We do have some girls in the program as well that are on our waiting list. So we can always use volunteers," she said.
Registration for the Golf Fore Kid’s Sake tournament is open right now and if you would like more information on Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County, log onto www.bbbsyc.org.
