BILLINGS — The Billings Fire Department hosted a fundraiser Saturday at Canyon Creek Brewing.

"Pint Night" at Canyon Creek Brewing is the second fundraiser the Billings Fire Department has hosted to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The department was able to raise over $2K at the event, for a total of $3.2K from both events.

Eight Billings firefighters, along with 2000 other firefighters form across the country, will be heading to Seattle to participate in the 29th annual LLS Firefighter Stairclimb.

Battalions across the country are in friendly competition to see who can raise the most money up until the stair climb on March 8.

Firefighters will be in full gear, hiking up 69 flights of stairs to raise awareness for those suffering from Leukemia and Lymphoma.

Survivors and fighters of the disease will be set on each floor, encouraging the firefighters as they make their way to the top of the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle.

After the loss of Great Falls firefighter, Jason Baker, in February of 2019, firefighters across Montana have an even more personal reason to fight for the cause.

Jason Baker died of Leukemia in February of 2019; learn more about his life here.
