BILLINGS — About a dozen Billings north side homes are without water after a city water line broke and blew a hole in the pavement on North 18th Street Saturday around 4:30 p.m., according to Billings Public Works crews.
“We saw the leak. So if that’s the only thing, we’ll be done in a couple hours,” said Billings Public Works Senior Equipment Operator Ryan Skillestad.
He estimated crews would have the water turned back on around 10 p.m.
The homes without water sit on the block between sixth and eighth Avenues North and N 18th and N 17th Streets.
Skillestad wasn't sure what exactly caused the break in the 12 inch water line.
Water was bursting from the hole in the street for about an hour until Public Works crews could shut the line off around 5:30 p.m.
