The Billings Public Library is planning to reopen July 1 with a limited capacity.
The library has been operating as a daycare center for children of medical workers and first responders since March 16. The service will end May 29, Gavin Woltjer, the library director, wrote in an email.
After the daycare service ends, library staff will undergo "rigorous tasks" of deep cleaning and continual sanitizing of the collection inside for the public's safety, Woltjer wrote.
Addition changes in operations will be made to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including floor marking to direct foot traffic to maintain distance, distancing in computer labs, limited use of meeting rooms and other measures.
During this limited capacity reopening, hours of operations will be modified: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
