BILLINGS - The 2020 Election is coming up fast and so is the chance to make your voice heard. As of today, there are 122 days until ballots go out and only 147 days until those ballots are counted. Now is a good time to registering to vote, if you haven’t already.
On Monday, we caught up with some Billings residents and asked them why it is so important to vote this November.
“I was at the protest yesterday,” said local designer Nicole Andersson. “There's issues of diversity and equality that we are facing across the nation. It's absolutely important to vote because these issues that we are facing right now are unprecedented and everyone’s voice must be heard. Everyone needs to get out and represent what they believe in.”
Lara Guercio, a local attorney added: “I think it is an important part of our democracy and citizen participation is obviously very important. So I think we all need to be invested in our democracy and part of that is voting. I think it's a civil responsibility and a duty as a citizen.”
If you are not registered to vote, you can do so by going to MT.Gov and clicking on the voter page. And remember, if you turn 18 on or before Nov. 3 you can register now.
