A building in Billings that has served as the venue for numerous events, including high school basketball and the circus, is now up for sale.
The Al Bedoo Shrine Auditorium is on the market for $2.49 million.
The 48,000-square-foot building sits on 5.46 acres at 1125 Broadwater Ave.
The gymnasium has been a big part of events held at the Shrine.
"The property has been here since 1949," said Tom Hanel, the selling agent and managing broker at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Floberg Real Estate. "Extremely active piece of property as you know all kinds of events, historic events, entertainers, ceremonial events, religious events, sporting events to include the Shrine Circus which is here for many years. It's what I describe as a happy-sad. Obviously, we're honored to have the listing and we'll do our very best but at the same time, this represents the need for the Shriners Al Bedoo to relocate. "
Hanel is also a member and said the Shriners will continue to host events until the building is sold and will eventually buy a smaller building.
