BILLINGS — Dignitaries were on hand Tuesday morning for a renaming ceremony for two Veterans Administration specialty clinics in Billings.
According to a press release, the VA Community Based Specialty Clinic is being named in memory of Benjamin Charles Steele, an Army Air Corps veteran and survivor of the Bataan Death March, and the Billings VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in memory of Dr. Joseph Medicine Crow, an Army veteran and Crow Nation Tribal Chief.
Both of Montana's U.S. senators, Democrat Jon Tester and Republican Steve Daines, participated in the ceremony, along with Montana's lone congressman, Republican Greg Gianforte.
Tester is a ranking member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and worked to pass the bipartisan bill to name the clinics.
