BILLINGS — The Billings Police Department is closer to meeting its staffing needs.
In a ceremony Wednesday afternoon, six new officers joined the Billings police force.
The new officers were sworn in by Municipal Court Judge Sheila Kolar, while Chief Rich St. John was on hand to present their badges.
Five of those officers will now head to the Montana Law Enforcement Academy for training.
One is already certified and ready for patrol.
The six officers are Sebastian Stobinski, Tara Weekes, Lance Dollarhide, Eric Stigen, Nicholas Fonte and Trevor Smith.
