BILLINGS — The body of a woman was found washed up on the banks of the Yellowstone River near Shepherd on Saturday.
A goose hunter discovered the body near Arrow Island Park around 10 a.m., according to Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder.
Investigators estimated that the woman was in her 20s but did not want to speculate on how long she had been deceased.
The description reportedly matches that of missing Billings woman Amelia Rose Brooks, but Linder did not want to speculate on an identity until the Coroner's Office could confirm via autopsy.
Brooks was last seen in the Billings Heights area on October 13.
