All restaurants, bars, casinos, taprooms and coffee shops in Carbon were ordered to close at 5 p.m. Tuesday for a week to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The Carbon County Board of Health through Health Officer William George and the county's COVID-19 incident management team made the announcement.

The closure, similar to Yellowstone County's, does not restrict drive-through, delivery, takeout, or pick-up service.

The order will be re-evaluated on a week-to-week basis.

Eight people in Montana have tested positive for coronavirus. No cases are in Carbon County, although public-health officials have urged proactive restrictions on social gatherings to stop the spread of the virus.
