Churches all around the world held virtual Palm Sunday services at the start of Holy Week, including First Baptist Church in downtown Billings.
The 10 a.m. service was close to normal, but with no worshipers, and just a camera for a Facebook Live feed.
First Baptist Pastor Ross Lieuallen gave the sermon.
"I talked about piggybacking off the joy of Palm Sunday that people greeted Jesus as they came in with great praise and rejoicing," he said. "I talked about the joy of the Lord today in our lives."
A band was also in the church, but no one in the pews.
"It does seem a little weird to have services and nobody's there," Lieuallen said. "It's good though. I think people of our church and people outside of our church are viewing in, like they are with most churches, so people are able to participate."
First Baptist and several other churches in the area plan on having online services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday next weekend.
