BILLINGS — Update 2:58 p.m. Bob Gibson of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks said his agency was notified of the sighting last night and does not believe the animal is sick, wounded or more threatening to humans than any other wildlife.
The agency is continuing to monitor the area, he said.
Billings public schools officials are warning of a confirmed coyote sighting near Central Heights Elementary School on Billings West End.
The Billings Police Department and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks have been notified, the district said on its Facebook page.
Officials are urging caution from parents while transporting students to and from school and when they're walking.
Central Heights Elementary is at 120 Lexington Drive.
