Update 5:30 p.m. A 16-year-old was killed and a 14-year-old girl injured in two-vehicle crash at the corner of Rimrock Road and Virginia Lane Tuesday afternoon.
The two teenagers were in a small passenger car on Virginia Lane trying to turn right onto Rimrock Road when their vehicle was struck by a large Dodge pickup heading east on Rimrock Road around 3:45 p.m., Billings Police Sgt. Bret Becker told Q2 News at the scene.
Becker said he did not believe anyone in the truck was injured. The driver did go to the hospital to consent to a blood draw, he said.
Police later said in a news release that the three 19-year-old occupants in the truck, the driver from Nevada and two passengers from Billings, sustained minor injuries.
Rimrock Road remained closed from Virginia Lane to Normal Avenue for several hours as police continue to investigate. The road reopened after about three hours.
