Crash sparks large fire off I-90 west of Park City

The fire has been knocked down, and traffic on I-90 returned to normal around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Columbus Fire Department.

About 1.5 acres of grass burned, according to fire officials.

The fire started around noon following a collision between a semi and a white pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver was transported to a local medical facility. The driver's condition was not available.



(initial report) PARK CITY - Fire and emergency crews responded early Thursday afternoon to a crash on Interstate 90 that sparked a large fire.

The Columbus Fire Department said the fire started from a motor vehicle accident in the eastbound lanes between Park City and Columbus.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The Montana Highway patrol reports the incident at mile marker 419 involved two vehicles and both lanes were blocked.
