LOCKWOOD — No one was injured after a fire left extensive damage to a split level home at 3720 Farnum Dr. in Lockwood early Saturday morning.
Lockwood Fire Department engineer / paramedic Ryan Staley told Q2 over the phone that the fire's cause is still being investigated.
The fire was called in at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Staley said the home was occupied when the fire started, but everyone inside got out safe.
By the time firefighters arrived on scene, heavy flames could be seen coming from the home. Crews had the fire knocked down shortly before 2 a.m.
Staley said the home's open floor plan meant firefighters couldn't keep the fire from spreading throughout the house. Crews were able to save most of the attached garage.
The Lockwood Fire Department requested mutual aid from the Billings Fire Department to help fight the fire.
All together, Staley said three trucks from Lockwood and one truck from Billings assisted in fighting the blaze.
Crews stayed on scene until 4:30 a.m. to monitor hot spots.
