POMPEY'S PILLAR — The Pompeys Pillar National Monument was the site for the second annual Fall Festival, which included Rock the Run, which is a 5K run.
The festival honored military members, veterans and first responders.
It was also a chance to learn about the pillar that Captain William Clarke visited in 1806.
About 30 booths contributed to the celebration which ended a few hours early because of the weather.
Law enforcement, the Montana National Guard and other emergency responders all participated.
"It's good for us to have a designated day where we appreciate what all these amazing men and women do for our country," said Chelsey Beck, Friends of Pompeys Pillar Program Manager.
"Veterans Meat Locker, they are a non-profit in Billings, and they give out free meat to veterans. They had their trailer here full of meat. It's a great organization that we are so proud to support," she said.
Some of the race entry fees will go to the Montana Veterans Meat Locker.
Pompeys Pillar will be closed from Oct. 31 to April 27.
